There have been a couple of great bands at Smiley's here in Bolinas this week. On Thursday night The Mushrooms sprouted big time, three of 'em right there on stage! Those of you who love quirky, humorous and catchy pop tunes will no doubt love The Mushrooms. Kind of a Neil Young meets Old 97's vibe with a hint of surf and a dash of garage. Tony and Willard's falsetto harmonies rule! RB enthusiatically holds things together on the skins and can be scene grabbing a vocal mic now and again as well. Saturday night contemporary classic rockers Honeydust rolled into town and tore the roof off the joint! With a lineup of Fairfax all stars they remind you of why you love rock 'n roll in the first place. Muscular originals and wisely chosen covers done with brute force and finesse at the same time.
