“Spare, dark, elegant and contemporary…”

Dennis McNally, author and Grateful Dead historian.

“It is rare that I hear a band that I feel is truly original. This Old Earthquake is the golden exception. Part rock, part bluegrass, part folk, the Earthquake boys bring a northern coast flavor to  a uniquely American sound that is a must for any music lover.”

James Redford, documentary filmmaker.

Rob is best known as the founding member of the San Francisco band, Train. Rob took home a Grammy Award for “Drops of Jupiter” (Best Rock Song), which received five Grammy nominations. He is the musical force behind hits like “Meet Virginia,” “Free,” “I Am,” and “Get to Me,” having contributed to music that has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Rob left Train after their third record to make the solo album, “Midnight Ghost,” which met with tremendous critical acclaim. He recently returned to San Francisco to launch Painbirds (with Tom Luce and former Train member, Charlie Colin), playing sold-out shows, and releasing a six-song EP.

Rob has now brought together top musical talent from the Bay Area to form a new rock band to launch his solo career. Rob is currently writing material for a new release slated for 2016.
